Our Approach

From Financial Information to Actionable Insight.

We work with the financial information you already have, helping turn it into the insight you need. Our process is structured and transparent, so you can see how each figure in your reporting was developed, and trust what it tells you.

The Process

Four Steps, Applied Consistently.

Accounting records what happened. Our process is designed to explain why it happened, what it means, and what decisions may follow.

  1. Collect

We bring together the relevant financial and operational information from your existing systems and records: the general ledger, subledgers, property manager or job-cost reports, payroll summaries, and the spreadsheets your team already relies on. We work from what you have and identify any gaps early.

  2. Organize

We standardize the data, map it into a consistent reporting structure, and review it against source records. Inconsistencies, unusual items, and missing information are identified and raised with you, not silently adjusted. The result is a reliable foundation for analysis.

  3. Analyze

We develop the financial reports, management dashboards, forecasts, and variance analyses agreed for your engagement, focusing on the measures that drive your results: margins by project or property, cost trends, cash requirements, and performance against plan.

  4. Advise

We explain the results in plain language, highlight the matters that require attention, and help you think through the options. The goal is not a longer report. It's a clearer understanding of the business and better-informed decisions.

How We Work

The Practices Behind Reliable Reporting.

Financial insight is only as good as the process that produces it. These practices shape every engagement.

  • Working with your existing systems

Wherever practical, we work from your current accounting software and records. The objective is to make the information you already maintain more useful, without unnecessary changes to established systems.

  • Consistent reporting structures

Reports follow the same structure from period to period, and across entities, properties, or locations, so comparisons are meaningful and trends are easy to see.

  • Source-data review

We review reported figures against their sources and identify discrepancies. Where something doesn't reconcile, we say so and work with you or your accountant to resolve it.

  • Professional analytical methods

Variance analysis, margin analysis, forecasting, and scenario modeling follow established financial analysis practice, with assumptions documented and open to review.

  • Clear presentation of findings

Findings are presented in plain language, with the most important matters first. Supporting detail is available, but you shouldn't have to search for the point.

  • Ongoing reporting and support

Many engagements continue beyond the first set of reports, with reporting and review on a schedule agreed with you, so insight keeps pace with the business.

Data and Judgment

Technology-Enabled Reporting, Supported by Professional Financial Review.

The quality of the analysis depends on the quality of the data

Any financial analysis is only as reliable as the information it is built on. Part of our work is assessing the completeness and consistency of the underlying records, and being clear about any limitations. Where information is incomplete, we tell you what can reasonably be concluded, what can't, and what would improve it.

Technology supports the work. People are responsible for it.

Depending on the engagement, Dahava may use spreadsheet-based financial models, data consolidation and automated reporting processes, business intelligence software, and AI-assisted analysis to work accurately and efficiently. Every report is reviewed by a person exercising financial judgment before it reaches you. Technology makes the work faster; it does not replace the review.

A sensible approach to your financial information

We ask only for the information an engagement requires, and we agree with you at the outset how it will be shared. Please don't send financial statements, account details, or system logins through our website contact form.

Getting Started

What an Engagement Looks Like.

Every engagement is scoped to the client, but most follow a similar path.

  1. Introductory consultation

A conversation about your business, the financial information you have today, and the questions you'd like it to answer.

  2. Information review

A look at your existing reports and systems to determine what reporting can reasonably be developed from them.

  3. Proposed scope

A written proposal describing the reporting, analysis, and support we recommend, and how often reporting would be delivered.

  4. Reporting and review

We build the reporting foundation, deliver the agreed reports, and review the results with you on the schedule we've agreed.

An introductory consultation is the simplest way to see what your existing financial information could tell you with the right structure and analysis.
